Consultant Gardiner & Theobald has appointed a former Lend Lease manager as a new partner with a remit to grow the firm’s project and programme management division.

G&T said this week it had appointed Ian Robinson to the new role. Robinson was previously Lend Lease’s EMEA executive general manager for project and programme management services, but departed in September.

Meanwhile, G&T said its work pipeline indicated London was experiencing a “phenomenal” uplift in building work being prepared for tender, with a shift back to commercial schemes.

G&T said next year 71% of the projects it is currently preparing for tender are offices (3.5 million ft2), compared with 24% this year (2.5 million ft2).

A smaller proportion of schemes look set to be residential next year, 10% (0.5 million ft2), compared with 46% (4.8 million ft2) this year.
