Young achiever of the year Georgia Elliott-Smith takes centre stage in the parade of winners at the 2003 Building Awards on Tuesday night. The 18 successful entrants with her included Taylor Woodrow, Bellway Homes, Arup and George Brumwell, general secretary of UCATT, who was personality of the year. The awards, at Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel in London, were hosted by the BBC's Nicky Campbell. They included a speech by construction minister Brian Wilson, in which he revealed plans for a Better Buildings Summit in June to promote sustainability and energy efficiency (see page 13). The full list of winners can be seen in our Building Awards 2003 supplement, free with this week's issue.
