Sales also healthy last year for builders merchant and rising further in 2008 so far

Builders merchant Gibbs & Dandy has reported a 10.8% rise in profit to £4.5m for 2007.

Turnover for the year rose by 7% to £62.5m.

The company has also announced that sales in the first two months in 2008 have been 9.1% above last year's figures.

Gibbs & Dandy's final dividend was declared at 10p per share to 15.75p, up from 15p in 2007.
