Consultant Gleeds is project manager and lead consultant on the Stourbridge Further Education College scheme. The development, near Birmingham, will see a new 4,000m2 campus built at Brierley Hill.
Design by Pick Everard architects, the building will provide learning facilities for many of the college’s 2250 students aged 16 and over who are taking arts courses.
The site is expected to achieve a BREEAM ‘very good’ rating by incorporating sustainable features such as rainwater harvesting and mixed heating and ventilation systems.
Stuart Senior, Gleeds Nottingham managing partner, said: “The Stourbridge scheme is going to cement the college’s pivotal role in the local and wider community as a highly respected provider of further education and we are delighted to be involved with it.”
The scheme is due for completion in September 2011.
