Consultant appointed to project manage college schemes in Northamptonshire

Gleeds has secured a deal to project manage £55m worth of college schemes in Northamptonshire.

The consultant has been appointed by the Tresham Institute to oversee the construction of two further education campuses at Corby and Wellingborough and an expansion of the existing campus in Kettering.

Plans include teaching facilities, workshops, accommodation and, at Kettering, a hair and beauty salon, training kitchen and restaurant.

The projects are being funded through the Learning Skills Council and will have to win detailed planning permission before construction can begin.

Stuart Senior, managing partner at Gleeds, said “We are delighted to be involved with these projects which demonstrate the local authority’s commitment to regeneration in each town.

“Each project presents its own challenges but we are confident that we can deliver on quality of design and function whilst adhering to the Learning and Skill Council’s cost models.”
