Procurement Packs will speed up delivery of affordable housing says planning and housing minister Keith Hill.
Housing minister Keith Hill has announced the launch of ‘Procurement Packs’, a new government initiative to speed up the delivery of affordable housing built by PFI schemes.
Speaking at the National House-Building Council’s annual lunch yesterday (Wednesday), Hill said: “This government is committed to ensuring the delivery of the right type of housing in the right places. Our £38 billion Sustainable Communities Plan is the best opportunity we have had for generations to change the way we build.”
The packs, which will be similar to previous initiatives used for other local government PFI projects, will provide a step-by-step guide to developing a housing PFI project, and will include standard contract documentation.
The packs have been developed by the office of the deputy prime minister and ‘4ps’, the Public Private Partnerships Programme that supports local government bodies in their procurements.
