Online discussion will explain how to import and export goods and hire workers from the EU

The government has revealed plans to host a webinar to advise the construction sector on the Brexit process. The session, which is free to attend, will be run by the business department on 28 October.

It is one in a series of sector-specific webinars the department is running this month to help businesses to prepare for the end of the transition period. The UK formally left the European Union on 31 January this year but has been in a transition period ever since. This is due to end on 31 December.

The webinar will explain what the changes mean and the actions businesses must take to avoid interruption. Topics covered will include how to import and export goods, the process for hiring people from the EU, and how to provide services in EU markets.

Registrations for the webinar series are now open.

The sessions will be recorded and made available on this link for those businesses unable to attend.

The government has also launched an online transition checker which anybody can use, be it a business or an individual.
