Property consultant takes over London-based Schatunowski Brooks

Property consultant GVA Grimley has acquired London-based right to light consultant Schatunowski Brooks so it can advise developers on the risk of blocking light in the early stages of planning schemes.

Schatunowski's clients include Crown Estate, Hammerson, Quintain, Grosvenor Estate, the Corporation of London and many other local authorities and institutional investment organisations.

Alex Schatunowski, its senior partner, will join GVA Grimley as a director, and all Schatunowski staff will be incorporated into the firm’s London head office.

Max Haycocks, director at GVA, said: "70% of our business is consultancy based and we are continually looking to grow this side of the business.

"Schatunowski Brooks brings over 52 years of experience in this niche, but increasingly important, area of property advice."

This is GVA's second acquisition this year. It recently bought Glasgow-based agency Alan Watts.
