Balfour Beatty's FM arm signs contract to manage Metropolitan Police buildings

Haden Building Management, the facilities management arm of Balfour Beatty, has signed a £150 million contract with the Metropolitan Police Authority to manage their buildings.

The seven-year contract will see the company manage over 500 properties across London, including the Peel centre in Hendon.

The contract is one of two awarded by the MPA for its entire estate. Another £150 million contract to manage the southern half of the Met’s estates has been awarded to property managers and contractors Interserve. Haden will manage the northern half as part of the contract.

Balfour Beatty chief executive Ian Tyler said: “This contract confirms and extends Haden’s position as a leading provider of facilities management services in the UK.”

Haden, which has an annual revenue of over £250 million already has long-term contracts with Royal Mail, BT and Tesco. In September it signed a £320 million, seven-year deal with the Department of Work and Pensions. It has added £650 million of work to its portfolio so far this year.
