Architect Hawkins\Brown has been commissioned to take forward Foster + Partners’ Parliament Square redevelopment.

The practice is working with Olympic masterplanner EDAW and architect DSDHA, which did the original feasibility study with Foster, to design and build the high-profile scheme.

Carol Lees, project manager for the scheme at Hawkins\Brown said particular attention had to be paid to security.

She said: “Our stakeholders are the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey and they obviously have distinct security concerns.”

Hawkins\Brown won the commission last month after entering an invited competition against other practices on the Transport for London framework, including Foster + Partners.
