Balfour Beatty subsidiary Heery International is to be project manager for the redevelopment of Portsmouth city centre.
The £120m project is being developed as a joint venture between Centros Miller and Taylor Woodrow in conjunction with Portsmouth council.

The project, designed by the Jerde Partnership, is a mixed-use scheme with two department stores, about 40,000 m2 of open retail space, cafe and catering areas, 200 apartments, a 250-bed hotel and a car park.

It will be in a 28 acre section of the city centre currently occupied by the 1960s Tricorn Centre.

Heery managing director Graham Rice said the scheme confirmed Heery's credentials in the retail and leisure sector. He said: "Our focus is on effective construction and cost management."
