ADP Architects has revealed this design for a Faculty of Arts, Design and Technology at the University of Derby. The £12.7m building has 8500 m2 of rehearsal rooms, lecture theatres and performing arts studios.

Sustainability elements in the design, which consolidates facilities on five sites, include natural ventilation and storm waters diverted to newly created reed beds for filtration. Contractor Norwest Holst started on site last summer and work is due to be complete in January 2007.
