Peter Mumford spent nearly 20 years at a number of construction consultancies

Highways England has appointed construction consultancy veteran Peter Mumford as its new executive director of major projects and capital portfolio management.

Mumford, who has held the position on an interim basis since August, brings with him UK and international project and programme experience across rail, road, airports and utilities.

Prior to joining Highways England, he was vice president of London-based consultancy HKA after spending more than two-and-a-half years at Aecom as head of program leadership in EMEA.

He was also a director at rival consultant Turner & Townsend for more than 10 years.

Highways England is currently delivering the government’s Road Investment Strategy for 2015-2020, backed by investment of £15.2bn in over 1000 major scheme to help improve England’s motorways and major roads.
