James R. Knowles acquisition boosts consultant's financial results

Construction consultant Hill International has increased interim operating profit by 75% to £3.8m ($7.5m).

The firm said results were boosted by the acquisition of consultant James R. Knowles (Holdings) in September 2006.

Net revenue increased 74.3% to £47m ($93m) for the six months ending 30 June 2007.

Hill’s construction claims group, where the James R. Knowles business sits, increased its net revenue 276.4% to £16.7m.

Renny Borhan, Hill's managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: "The acquisition of James R Knowles and its successful integration into our construction claims group, combined with very strong results in the UK have contributed significantly to the Company's record performance.

"We have recently had a number of significant UK appointments on some of the largest and most prestigious projects in the world, and look forward to continuing our growth both in the UK and overseas into the future."
