The £22m GSA Conservatoire designed by HLM Architects will bring together the acting school's seven sites.

A £22m acing school in Guildford, Surrey has been granted planning consent. The The HLM Architects-designed GSA Conservatoire at Woodbridge Meadows will bring the school's seven separate sites into a single centre of excellence.

The scheme comprises a 6,100 sq m school, 146 student bedrooms and 1,100 sq m of office space.

There are two buildings of four and five storeys and the school will cater for 100 staff and 350 full-time students.

The project will also include 16 teaching studios, a studio theatre, a 150-seat theatre, a library, production workshops, set building facilities, a café bar and a restaurant. The GSA Conservatoire provides courses in production, drama, music and theatre.

Work will start on site this summer is expected to complete in summer 2008. Ridge is the project manager for the scheme.
