Wembley M&E contractor Honeywell has had to repair cabling in the stadium’s communications room after discovering damage to work.

The revelation comes as Honeywell and other M&E firms on the project made a total of 106 redundancies to the electrical workforce.

The cause of damage was unclear as Building went to press, but Honeywell said it had no evidence of malicious damage.

A Honeywell spokesperson said: “Damage was found on four cables and was repaired immediately. This did not interrupt work.”

It is understood that the damage was found on the ground level where cables lead to the public address system.
