Housing association the Hyde Group has launched a £1bn contractor framework and is encouraging SMEs as well as major contractors to bid.

Hyde anticipates building between 1,000 and 1,500 new homes each year, with half being affordable homes both for rent and for shared ownership and these will be spread across sites from under £1m construction value to more than £100m for major regeneration projects.

The organisation will develop 10% of its programme using an offsite construction system.

David Gannicott, Hyde’s group business development director, said: “Our strategy is to establish long and productive partnerships that will enable us build attractive and desirable homes for all sections of the community in locations where people want to live.

“Through the use of innovative funding structures, joint venture arrangements and partnerships with the public and private sector, we’re planning to significantly increase investment in our development programme, including building more affordable homes funded largely through profits from more housing for sale and from PRS activity.”

The closing date for submitting a PQQ is 19 December 2014 and interested bidders can obtain a short application form from www.delta-esourcing.com For more information contact Nasreen Tayab, Category Manager: nasreen.tayab@hyde-housing.co.uk or 020 3207 2602.

The news comes after fellow housing association London & Quadrant also relaunched a £1bn contractor framework this week.
