Awards will be backed by GLA in Olympic year

The 64th annual Housing Design Awards has opened for entrants.

The awards, backed by the Department for Communities and Local Government, will also be backed by the Greater London Authority in 2012, with the mayor of London’s housing adviser, Rick Blakeway, sitting on the 14-strong judging panel for the first time.

The awards will also be supported by Design Council Cabe, and will be the first since the bodies merged last spring.

Entry information for the award, which was won by Isis’ Granary Wharf project in Leeds designed by careyjones, chapmantolcher, CZWG and Allies & Morrison last year, is available for any scheme in England of 4 or more units.
