Stephen Williams will head up Health and Safety Executive's construction division.

The Health and Safety Executive has appointed former head of railway policy Stephen Williams as chief inspector of construction.

Williams will replace former construction head Kevin Myers, who left the post in May to lead the HSE’s hazardous installations division. A start date for Williams’ new role has yet to be decided.

Rosi Edwards, HSE regional head of construction for Wales and the south-west, has been acting chief inspector of construction since Myers’ departure.
