A contractor walks across Europe’s biggest floating solar panel array

A contractor works on Europe’s biggest floating solar panel array as it nears completion on the Queen Elizabeth II Reservoir in south-west London, on Monday.

Over 23,000 solar photovoltaic panels will be floated on the reservoir, generating an estimated 5.8 million kW/h of electricity in the first year.

The energy will help to power nearby Hampton Water Treatment Works, providing a public water supply to nearly 3 million people.
