QS Gleeds' in-house management consultancy arm is to carry out a 12-month review of the firm's cost consultancy division.

The management consultancy usually advises clients such as J Sainsbury and Marks & Spencer. Divisional chief Graham Robinson plans to use one of Gleeds' business models on the company to cut costs, boost profitability and improve customer service.

Robinson said: "Different clients place different values on different services such as cost planning or work-in-progress valuations. This model enables you to sit down and work out what kind of service the client wants you to provide." Robinson hopes to extend the review to Gleeds' project management division within a year.
