Scheme aimed at increasing mobility among professionals would be recognised by CIOB and RICS

The Association of European Building Surveyors and Construction Experts has called for a pan-European card to recognise professional qualifications.

The scheme will establish a professional card which will be recognised by all AEEBC member institutions, including RICS and CIOB.

The new card will be similar to the European Federation of National Engineering Associations card and is aimed at increasing mobility amongst building professionals and ensuring the industry is in line with EU policy.

An AEEBC spokesman said: “This new card will establish a common platform in Europe for ensuring mutual recognition of various qualifications which exist across the building and construction professions. It won’t replace or overrule national legislation, but rather will work in harmony with them”

The association has put the card out to consultation with its members. Interested parties can register their views at AEEBC
