An NHS trust based in the North-east has appointed Kier, Interserve and Durham firm Esh to a £100m construction framework.

The contractors will be handed work to build new facilities and repair existing ones for Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys Foundation NHS Trust.

The trust, which is based in Darlington and provides mental health services for 1.4 million people living in Country Durham, has said the deal will last four years.

According to a notice posted on the Official Journal, the three chosen firms were the only ones to submit a tender to the trust.
