Facilities services deal extended for a further four years

Interserve has won a £140m contract with the BBC to continue providing facilities services until 2023.

This latest four-year extension, which was first awarded in 2014, will see the firm provide total facilities management services across the broadcaster’s UK estate.

The contract spans 150 sites and 560,000m2 of floor space, including the BBC’s offices and production facilities at MediaCityUK in Salford, Broadcasting House in Portland Place, London and Pacific Quay in Glasgow.

Services provided will include broadcasting engineering, energy and utilities management through to cleaning, portering and security, including the need for 24-hour operations at several locations.

In addition to this contract, the firm also delivers security guarding and building contractor services for the broadcaster under separate frameworks.

It is the second major contract win for Interserve in a matter of days after last week announcing it had secured a five-year deal worth £227m to provide facilities management services for the Department for Work and Pensions.
