John O'Kane to join board of infrastructure services group from the end of April, following last year's completion of financial restructuring.

Jarvis, the infrastructure support services group, has appointed a new finance director.

John O'Kane will join the board at the end of April, but will not replace Jarvis' current finance director, Alasdair Marnoch until the end of May.

Marnoch will stay on until then to handover responsibilities to O'Kane.

O'Kane joins after a brief spell as finance director at Eco-Bat Technologies. Before that he was finance director at both Peterhouse Group and Kelda Group.

A statement from Jarvis said on Tuesday: "The planned departure of Alasdair Marnoch was agreed at the time of his appointment to Jarvis. Alasdair's remit was to oversee the financial restructuring of the group which was completed in the late summer of 2005."

Jarvis' chief executive Alan Lovell is also expected to leave in the near future. In Jarvis' interim results announcement in November, chairman Steven Norris said that Lovell was unlikely to "remain with the group for long once its headquarters moves to York in the first half of 2006."
