Joint venture comprising Morgan Est, Vinci and Sir Robert McAlpine is awarded M1 road widening work

The Highways Agency has awarded Morgan Est, Vinci Construction and Sir Robert McAlpine a £336m contract to widen the M1.

The joint venture group will construct a new inside lane and hard shoulder along approximately 23km of the M1 form junction 25 to juntion 28.

Work will include the reloction of drains, signs and lighting, central reservation works and, where necessary, alternations to up to 45 bridges.
