Newly formed social housing provider will have a turnover of around £1bn

Social housing builders Keepmoat and Apollo have completed their merger, forming a £1bn turnover firm.

The two firms announced their intention to merge at the end of last year.

Last month Keepmoat issued notices to hundreds of its staff saying that they were at risk of redundancy.

Ian Sutcliffe, chief executive of Keepmoat, said: “We have already made substantial progress in terms of integration and, whilst there is still plenty of work to be done, I am confident that we are now well-placed to successfully deliver on our business objectives and I therefore look to the future with great optimism.”
