Architect Ken Shuttleworth unveils proposals for mixed-use Birmingham scheme

Ken Shuttleworth’s Make Architects has unveiled these images of its £230m proposals for the mixed-use City Park Gate masterplan in Birmingham.

The 21ha urban quarter is for clients Countryside and Quintain. Richard Rogers' Centenary Library had been earmarked for a plot within City Park Gate but after the council decided to scrap the library, Rogers declined to re-masterplan the plot. The structural and civil engineer is Buro Happold. Work is due to start on site at the end of 2007.
