Four contractors have been handed spots on a £200m framework by Hampshire county council.

Kier, Morgan Sindall, Wates and Beard have been awarded places on the council’s intermediate construction framework.

The framework has been designed for contractors to deliver projects worth between £1m and £4m.

The scope of work is expected to consist mostly of some new build, extensions, refurbishments and alterations to existing schools as well as work to fire, police and NHS properties.

Civil engineering works such as highways, bridges or coastal works will not be included.

The council will award projects directly on a rotational basis.

In all, 27 firms bid for the framework.
