Contracts worth £55m help Kier to the number one spot, but Bovis Lend Lease dominates the yearly results
Kier won eight contracts valued at a total of £55m to knock Interserve off the top spot for April. These included a £10m office development for Countryside Properties in Chelmsford, Essex.

Interserve picked up one contract in April; in March, as you may remember, it took four projects valued at more than £87m to leap from nowhere to first place in a single bound.

However, the number of contracts is not really important: Morgan Sindall has scooped 113 in the past year to Bovis Lend Lease's 19. Yet Bovis tops the league à la Manchester United, whereas Morgan Sindall resides, Charlton-style, in mid-table.

And no matter how many contracts Foster and Partners win and the Ministry of Defence let, they can't shake off that runners-up feeling. HOK and the Department of Health retain their hegemony.
