Firm will build innovation hub for Imperial College London

Laing O’Rourke has won a £100m contract to build an innovation hub for Imperial College London at its new Imperial West campus inWhite City, London.

The 48,000 sq m Research and Translation Hub, with a total project value of £200m, will include education, research and translation facilities for Imperial, as well as spaces for start-up firms spun out from the university or for private sector firms.

The architects on the scheme are PLP and Aukett Swanke.

Work will begin in September and is expected to complete in summer 2016.

The scheme is being jointly developed by Imperial and Voreda, a real estate and investment company.
