Consultant Arup has completed the first phase of an eco-friendly school project in northern India. Arup has designed the Druk White Lotus school, for UK charity the Drukpa Trust, to have minimal impact on the surrounding environment. It will use solar panels to power the lighting and water supply, and water will be reused for irrigation. As it is built in a highly seismic zone, measures have been taken to improve the school's structural safety against earthquakes.
