Rogers-designed fourth building wins planning

Stratford Lendlease job

Lendlease and London Continental Railways (LCR), joint venture partners on the £2.4bn International Quarter in Stratford, east London, have secured planning approval for the fourth office building on the site.

Designed by architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, the new building will create 280,000ft² of new workspace across 10 storeys.

Jonathan Emery, managing director property, Europe for Lendlease, said achieving planning permission for the S9 building was “another exciting step forward for the development”.

International Quarter London is set for its first commercial tenant, Transport for London, to move into its new office in September.

Lendlease and LCR are in discussions with a number of major tenants about moving to the site, which once completed will house more than 25,000 employees each day.

Overall the project will deliver 4mft² of grade ‘A’ office space, 333 new homes and community facilities within a 22 acre site.
