Architect Lewis & Hickey has targeted India to grow its business.

Paul Miele, chief executive of Lewis & Hickey, said: “India accounts for about 3% of our turnover and we want to increase that.”

The practice is involved in a number of projects in India’s fast expanding retail market.

The office will be opened in Mumbai, and will be headed by Dipak Kotecha, the managing director of the practice, who is moving to India. The office will take on six local staff, although it aims to double this number.

Mike Jauncey, Lewis & Hickey’s group operations executive, added: “This enhances our spread of offices and continues our policy of thinking globally and our commitment to servicing clients locally.”
