Daniel Libeskind's design for the London Metropolitan University is due to be completed for the spring term by main contractor Costain. The £3m postgraduate centre on Holloway Road, north London, provides a lecture theatre, seminar rooms, offices and a student cafeteria and is sandwiched between the concrete tower block of the 1960s Northern Polytechnic and the red-brick headquarters of the LMU. The project team includes structural engineer Cadogan Tietz, M&E engineer WSP and QS Gleeds. For the detailed story behind this scheme, see next week's Building.
