Linden Homes - the housebuilding division of Galliford Try - has acquired a 102-acre site in Basingstoke to build 750 homes.

These will be made up of 400 private and 350 affordable homes, with the site also having outline planning consent for sports facilities, shops, a school and nursery.

Hounsome Fields is immediately south of the firm’s 310 new homes at its flagship site in Basingstoke, known as Longacre, bringing the number of total new homes it is building in the immediate area past 1,000.

The new site is located west of Winchester Road and less than five miles from the town centre with immediate reach of the M3 and A34.

Work is due to start on site later this year with the new homes launching in summer 2019.

Andrew Hammond, divisional chairman for Linden Homes, said: “Recent land acquisitions across the country, including that of Hounsome Fields, have afforded us the opportunity to increase our volume growth as a business.”
