The GLA and British Gas have launched a scheme offering £100 towards cavity and loft insulation

The London Mayor and British Gas are offering £100 to Londoners who install energy saving insulation in their homes.

The scheme will see households receive £100 cash back once the work is completed. The GLA says that the incentive means that cavity wall insulation could cost as little as £250 and loft insulation £274.

Mayor of London Ken Livingstone said: “I urge all Londoners who have cavity walls or lofts that can be insulated to take up this offer.”

The incentive is the first initiative in London’s Green Home Programme which was launched last month as part of London’s Climate Change Action Plan.

The scheme will promoted across London on TV and posters on the Underground.
