Tube Lines begins work on Dollis Hill and Willesden Green refurbishment scheme

Local project manager Baljinder Raju has become cost consultant on the refurbishment of Dollis Hill and Willesden Green tube stations.

The Tube Lines employee from Dollis Hill has worked on the rebuilding of the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines. He is responsible for revamping both stations as part of Tube Lines’ upgrade programme for 2007-2008.

Raju said: “As a passenger I know just how great the needs and high the expectations are of those who regularly use each station and as a project manager, I have the skills to meet those needs and expectations.”

A team of 50 engineers will work at the two stations every night to deliver the upgrades.

A new public address system will be installed at Willesden Green along with a customer information system to better inform passengers about their journeys. The refurbishment of the station will include structural repairs and the redecoration and retiling of walls and floors.

A total of three stations are being upgraded on the Jubilee line in this round of refurbishments, including Waterloo station.
