Lovell has unveiled plans for a £30m waterside residential development in Doncaster, south Yorkshire.

The 5.6ha lakeside site will be host to 147 homes, which will almost entirely be open for market sale.

The two-, three- and four-bedroom properties will be located two miles south-east of the town centre, with a number of the new homes set to overlook the lake.

Lovell is set to start preparatory work this year before beginning work on the new homes in summer 2018. The first homes for sale are expected to be ready in 2019 with the overall development due to be finished in 2022.

Robert Adams, Lovell’s regional managing director, said: “The scheme will meet the strong demand that exists locally for high-quality new-build homes, with our house types carefully designed to suit a variety of prospective buyers, from young professionals and downsizers to families.”

The Doncaster scheme is the latest in a series of major developments finalised by Lovell’s Eastern regional business since August. They include a £12m development of 47 homes at Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire and a £13.2 million, 73-home scheme at Branston, near Lincoln.

Lovell’s regional forward order book now exceeds £100m, including its new homes schemes in partnership with housing associations and local authorities.
