West London contract will see improvement of 5200 homes in Hammersmith and Fulham

Lovell, the housing refurbishment division of Morgan Sindall, has won a £76m Decent Homes contract in West London.

It has been appointed by Hammersmith & Fulham Housing Management Services to carry out £44m of improvement work on 2900 homes in the Fulham North area over four years.

It will also modernise 2300 in Hammersmith Central, worth £32m. Work is due to start later this month and will include the installation of new bathrooms and kitchens and modern heating systems.

Lovell will also be responsible for the replacement of windows and doors and the refurbishment of some communal areas.

The contract has been awarded as part of the government’s Decent Homes initiative, designed to upgrade housing stock by 2010.
