The bridge's stress ribbon structure was intended to have a minimal environmental impact on its rural setting. The client was Kent County Council. The bridge engineer was Czech Republic-based Strasky Husty and Partners and Flint & Neill acted as UK liaison engineer. Principal contractor was Balfour Beatty and construction and site engineer was Lewin Frier Partnership.
