Existing building will make way for glass building cantilevered over a bypass subject to planning approval.

The Corporation of London has submitted plans for a new Blackfriars office building designed by EPR and Ken Shuttleworth’s architectural practice make.

The Bridge House scheme on the Northern bank of the Thames will provide 32,000sq ft of offices, a riverside café and public access.

The building is cantilevered over an underpass and it will vary in height from three to four storeys to preserve the view of St Paul’s cathedral.

City Surveyor Ted Hartill at Corporation of London said: “The Corporation intends to replace the existing building with this stunning scheme and attract a further major occupier."
