Student development is due for completion by September 2012
Mansell has been awarded a £35m contract to deliver a student accommodation facility at Great Suffolk Street in central London, for Unite.
The new ten storey building will be equipped to accommodate 671 bed spaces, with commercial units to be developed under the main building. The development has been designed to achieve a Breeam ’Excellent’ rating.
Work has already commenced on-site and the project is due for completion by September 2012.
This is the second student accommodation facility to be built by Mansell for Unite. In 2009 the firm won an £18m contract to design and construct 230 student accommodation units on the same site.
Mansell is currently constructing seven multi-storey accommodation blocks at Mansfield Hall in Reading, in a project worth £22.3m.
Unite is the largest provider of student accommodation in the UK.
