Material prices rise 4.5% in July

Costs for all sectors up more than 20% on last year, BEIS says

Material prices increased by 4.5% last month while the price of some types of imported timber rose by some 23% in July.

Prices for imported plywood in July were nearly 82% higher than they were in August 2020, according to the latest figures from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
