The consortium leading the development of the £600m Mersey Gateway bridge project has launched a major recruitment drive as construction is set to begin on the project this spring.

Merseylink – a joint venture between Kier, FCC and Samsung C&T ECUK – said it needed “hundreds” of staff across a number of disciplines, including project managers, quantity surveyors, site engineers and site managers.

Preparatory work on the project has already begun, with construction to start in earnest this spring.

At its peak the project is expected to employ more than 500 people.
