Chester-based Eco Estates had worked heavily in the education and commercial sectors

Chester-based modular building specialist Eco Estates has gone into administration.

The firm had previously worked with consultant Capita Symonds, contractor McLaren Construction and developer Clugston, building sustainable and modular buildings. Much of its work had been on schools.

Leeds based accountants Chamberlain and Co are handling the administration of the firm.

The insolvency follows the decision by student accommodation specialist Unite to sell its modular building arm at a cost of £21m.
