Hereford scheme to finish next September

Modular specialist Caledonian has been handed a £10m contract for new student accommodation in Hereford.

The Station Approach project will provide Hereford College of Arts and the city’s new NMiTE University, which specialises in technology and engineering, with 178 student bedrooms.

Each will have its own study area and ensuite bathroom.

All the modules will be pre-finished by Caledonian at its site in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

The firm said building the modules offsite reduced build time by about 50% compared to a conventional build and allowed the infrastructure and groundworks to progress at the same time as the accommodation.

The modules will be delivered to site 95% complete, with the accommodation set to be ready for students by September next year.
