Infrastructure arm of Morgan Sindall picks up contracts from Severn Trent and National Grid Transco.

Morgan Est has won gas and water contracts worth around £340m.

The infrastructure arm of Morgan Sindall has been selected as one of Severn Trent Waters preferred suppliers for its Asset Management Programme 4, and has been awarded a Professional Service Contract by National Grid Transco in Birmingham.

The Severn Trent work will involve asset renewal and new construction work in South Warwickshire, Birmingham, Glouscestershire and Worcestershire. The projects will last for five years starting in April 2005 and are valued between £15m and £20m a year.

The award of the Professional Services Contract to Morgan Est Gas Alliance involves preparatory work ahead of the award of Alliance Agreements, which will be worth £30-40m annually over the next eight years.

MEGA, which consists of Morgan Est, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Glendee and Utilise, is one of four consortia bidding for part of NGT's £1.8bn programme of gas replacement work.

The full award will be dependent on agreeing terms & conditions and the switch to Alliance Agreements is expected to take place by 31 December 2004, with work commencing on 1 April 2005.

Paul Smith, Group Chief Executive, said:'We are very pleased at the continued excellent progress being made by our Infrastructure Services business in developing its activities in the water and gas sectors.'
