Morgan Sindall will begin work this June on a build to rent scheme in York after the development was given the green light by city planners recently.
A team featuring developer Lendlease and architect Assael is behind the plan which is York’s first build to rent project.
Close to 200 homes are planned for the city’s Hungate redevelopment with the team also including Leeds firm Evans Property Group.
The Assael scheme (pictured) comprises a mix of studios, one and two-bedroom apartments, a communal lounge, 24-hour concierge, gym, landscaped courtyard, and a rooftop terrace with views of York Minster. There will be commercial space at ground level for local businesses.
