Contractor will build primary school and neighbourhood centre in Stockbridge Village, Merseyside

Morgan Sindall has won an £18.6m contract with Knowsley Borough Council to build a primary school and neighbourhood centre in Stockbridge Village, Merseyside.

The scheme, to be delivered in five phases, is part of a £25m project to transform the village, which also includes the construction of a new swimming pool, gym and leisure facilities.

The company said it would complete the work in spring 2012.

Morgan Sindall Group chief executive Paul Smith said: “We have considerable experience in successfully delivering complex, multi-element regeneration schemes of this nature and look forward to working closely with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council throughout the lifetime of this project.”
